These flotas joined in Cuba for the return voyage to Spain with large & heavy bars of silver (like loaves of bread) that were minted into coins in the 6 major mints in Spain The style of the coin was the pillars and waves type on the obverse and a Jerusalem Cross on the reverse This coin weighs 19.3 grams The two digit 79 date shows in the middle bottom front and a four digit 1679 date is seen at 6:00 on the front along the outer edge below the waves On the reverse is a Greek Cross The castles and lions are also seen on the reverse The cob was newly minted and probably uncirculated Most of the manifest was for newly minted 4 & 8 Reales cobs The official weight of an Eight Reales silver cob was 27.47 grams
