OBV | dd NN hERACLIVS ET hERA CON, Heraclius, on left and Heraclius Constantine on right, cross between their heads, each wearing crown and chlamys and each holding cross on globe | REV | Large M, ANNO to left, cross or chi-rho above, II to right, officina letter below | The obverse usually had the emperor with bust facing or sitting, often holding a cross or other religious object(s), even parts of the scriptures The reverse had a large letter indicating the coin denomination according to numerology (M or mu = 40, K or kappa = 20, I or iota = 10, and E or epsilon = 5) This large coin was minted in the ancient city of Nicomedia or in what is now modern day Izmit, Turkey Heraclius and Heraclius Constantine, AE "large M" follis (29-32 mm, 10.30 gm) Very dark patina with some sharp features
