The reverse shows an upper dental plate in the center, with a banner above it inscribed "EXCELSIOR"
The obverse has an area at the bottom center that is reddish brown, with the rest of the surface showing a little dark brown on raised parts, but mostly black
The reverse also shows some dark brown on the raised features, and small areas in the fields, with the balance mostly black
