Diameter – 26 mm across scallops
Edge – unmilled plain
Obverse – The center bears the Lion capital of Ashoka, with ‘INDIA’ in English and ‘Bharat’ in Hindi appearing on either side
Reverse – The value of the coin is shown in International numerals at the center with the year of issue just below it, and “Paise” in Hindi and “PAISE” in English are inscribed on its either side
Minted at – Kolkata (1971 - 78,80 - 82)
This coin was minted at Kolkata mint of West Bengal, where the economical crisis was most at that time
