The silver Denar was hand struck by Magyar craftsmen in the mining town of Kremnica, a location that is in modern day central Slovakia, with a weight of 0.5-0.6g, and a diameter of 15-16mm
The Madonna is depicted facing forward, gently cradling the baby Jesus on the obverse
The four-part segmented shield of the Hungarian Royal Coat of Arms appears on the reverse, surrounded by the ruling monarch's name, and date, if struck before 1570
