This tiny silver coin was minted for the city of Kolophon in Ionia, circa the late 6th Century BC The obverse depicts the archaic head of Apollo facing right The reverse features a rough quadripartite incuse square This was the smallest denomination of ancient Greek silver It measures about 5 mm in diameter, and weighs 0.1 grams, as shown on my scale
