A bit more about this medal | it was engraved in many different sizes (this diameter -52.40mm- is the rarest one) in bronze, silver-plated bronze and a very, very few in gold plated bronze | Reference | Wurzbach 8884 (W. Wurzbach " Katalog meiner Sammlung von Medaillen , Plaketten und Jetons", Hamburg, 1937) | Reference | Listed in Forrer Vol | Diameter | 52.47mm (i.e. 2 inches 1/10) | Obv/ Carlo-Alberto of Savoy, Vittorio-Emanuelle II and Umberto I Rev/ a Lady (Personifying Italy) seated to the right is holding the status of the 1848 Proclamation in her left hand while a crowned cherub to the left holds the Italian Flag This medal shows a very beautiful engraving with a great Allegory on the reverse
