The 1973 Canada Royal Canadian Mounted Police Silver Dollar is composed of 50% fine silver with an actual silver weight of 0.375 ounces and features a proof-like finish
The obverse depicts a re-engraved version of the "Mature Head" Queen Elizabeth II which shows considerable detail
The reverse design features a lone "Mountie" and his trusty steed as well as the dual date 1873-1973 since this coin commemorates the 100th anniversary of the formation of the R.C.M.P
The obverse is completely toned in nice looking predominantly blue and red colors
The reverse is slightly dirty looking but has plenty of attractive color that pops through the darker toning
