Franklin Pierce US Mint Indian Peace Bronze Medal 3 inch IP-33 Uncirculated Restrike
This beautiful Franklin Pierce Indian Peace bronze medal is 3 inches (76 mm) in diameter and .25 inches thick
The obverse was engraved by Salathiel Ellis and the reverse was engraved by Joseph Willson
There were only three US Mint medals with this reverse design
This medal is a restrike of the original minted in 1853
The reverse design shows a settler lecturing an Indian on the benefits of civilization
These medals have not been minted from the US Mint since the 1970s
