OBV | TI CLAVDIVS CAESAR AVG, hand holding scales, PNR in field | REV | legend around S C | It’s obverse design included a hand holding a pair of scales above the letters PNR (probably translated as PONDVS NVMMI RESTITVTVM or restoration of coin weight) The reverse of the coin also has the letters S and C. This is an abbreviation of Senatus Consulto which indicates the coin was struck with the support and decree of the Roman Senate The smallest coin denomination at the time, it was worth 1/4 an As Claudius Æ Quadrans (16-17 mm, 2.74 gm)
