Minted at the Heraclea in what is now Turkey, this copper follis appears to be in its original state, uncleaned and with some corrosion that could be expected with 18 centuries of age
The obverse features the profile of Emperor Diocletian, who ruled from 284 AD to 305 AD
The reverse shows a Roman soldier, and the “HTA” at the bottom represents the Heraclea mint
