This is a 73 mm (2 7/8 inch) in diameter, 195-gram (6.8 ounce) Society of Medalists 17th issue from 1938: “Dance of Life” by A (Alexander) Stirling Calder (1870-1945)
The obverse features a nude mother holder her baby boy with the legend ”THE DANCE OF LIFE BEGINS EARLY AND GOES ON
This is a VERY SCARCE medal, with a mintage on only 891, the LOWEST in the Society’s first decade
