THE SIZE IS 19.6 MM AND 4.43 GRAMS
OBVERSE – No legend, Heraclius in centre with Heraclius Constantine on right and Heraclonas on left
REVERSE – VICTORIA AVGUD, cross potent on three steps, Monogram 21 in left field, A in right
The solidus was struck at a rate of 72 to a Roman pound of pure gold, each coin weighing twenty-four Greco-Roman carats, or about 4.5 grams of gold per coin
The solidus was maintained essentially unaltered in weight and purity until the 10th century
