A BEAUTIFUL COPPER CONDER HALFPENNY TOKEN MINTED IN SHEFFIELD, YORKSHIRE UNITED KINGDOM, DATED 1793 AD
The issuer is uncertain but it is thought possibly to have been the diesinker and manufacturer Hands
THE SIZE IS 29.2 MM AND 10.23 GRAMS
OBVERSE – Bust of a smiling man in a turned-up, broad-rimmed hat: “YORKSHIRE HALFPENNY 1793”
REVERSE – A representation of the Arms of the Guild of Cutlers with legend: “PAYABLE IN SHEFFIELD”
