This beautiful James Madison Indian Peace bronze medal is 3 inches (76 mm) in diameter and .25 inches thick as was engraved by John Reich in 1809
It is the draped bust type medal with letter “R” at the lower edge on the obverse signifying the engraver’s name
This medal is a restrike of the original minted in 1809
These medals have not been minted from the US Mint since the 1970s
