The obverse of the medal shows FDR facing Right with his name and PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED States around the perimeter
The reverse has an eagle with rays perched on a banner which reads INAUGURATED PRESIDENT
At the base of the reverse are the initials of the engraver JSR (John Ray Sinnock)
