Manship designed the rare 1933 First inaugural medal for Franklin D Roosevelt with this medal using a similar motif on obverse
The Mint was experimenting with finishes for these large (3" diam) bronze medals and most Kennedy medals acquired many small copper flecks over the years
This one does have many small flecks, primarily on obverse, but is still an appealing piece with no nicks or dents
