Around the obverse the medal reads "The Protestant Board of School Trustees of Verdun Que" and has the Canadian maple leaf with the beaver in the center
On the reverse the medal is engraved "Woodland School Grade IV Douglas Matthews June 1939" with a maple leaf design around the edge of the medal
